Madhu R. Yakkanti, M.D.

Specializes in the area of Direct Anterior Approach Hip Replacements, Knee Replacements; Rapid Recovery Protocols, Minimally Invasive, Patient Specific, Custom Knee Replacement, Robotic Knee; & Fracture Management

Dr. Yakkanti specializes in the area of hip and knee  joint replacements and fracture management . Special interest in Same day / outpatient Joint replacements, Anterior approach Hip replacement, Rapid recovery protocols,  Robotic surgery, Patient specific joint replacements.  He has extensive surgical training and experience in managing complex and complicated  hip and knee replacements. By virtue of his experience he has a passion managing geriatric  fractures.

 

Dr. Yakkanti has a long association with teaching the art of Orthopedic surgery. He was awarded the best resident teacher award on multiple occasions in his role as assistant professor of Orthopedics at the University of Louisville. He regularly communicates with his peers, students and teachers regarding management of complex orthopedic problems. He participates in annual academic meetings of Orthopedic societies on a regular basis. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery, American Academy of Hip and Knee Surgeons, Orthopedic Trauma Association,  Mid America Orthopedic Association, Kentucky Orthopedic Association, Kentucky Medical Association.

 

Dr. Yakkanti was born in India where he earned his basic medical education and completed his Orthopaedic residency training. He went on to complete advanced training in managing complex fractures and poly trauma at the University of Louisville. He then completed the adult reconstruction fellowship at the University of Louisville. Dr. Yakkanti is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.
